Last autumn when one of our travelers was on a travel nurse assignment in the ER, she was working a Sunday evening.  As we all know, NFL football games are the focus for most guys nationwide during that time of the year.  One middle-aged couple came into the ER with the husband’s ear and side of his face covered with 2^nd degree burns.  When the traveler went into the room to interview the patient and his wife, they told her that the husband was watching football, as usual, on Sunday evenings.  The wife decided she would iron and she set the iron and ironing board up beside the sofa.  After she finished ironing and took the clothes to hang them up, the phone rang.  Her husband reached over without looking and picked up the hot iron instead of the telephone, putting it to his ear and side of his face!  Now that is being totally engrossed in football!!!
