Rocky Mountain High

At the threshold of the Rocky Mountains lies the city known as the “mile high city”, Denver Colorado.  Denver was a “gold rush” town established in the late 1850’s, that later survived due the other mineral wealth such as silver.  The city is uniformly flat with a majestic view of the Rocky Mountains to the west and the open plains to the east.

Denver is not lacking in attractions and entertainment.  In the winter, skiing resorts are plentiful for the outdoor thrill seeker.  Mountain climbing all four seasons is always a very popular activity.  For the less daring at heart, are numerous hiking trails.

For the sports enthusiast, Denver offers professional basketball- the Denver Nuggets- hence the gold rush era- and the Denver Broncos professional football team.  While on assignment in Denver, taking in a football game and/or a basketball game is definitely a must!

For the quieter side of entertainment, visiting Denver Botanic Gardens is an option.  These gardens are 21 acres of botanical theme gardens.  There are Japanese gardens overlooking goldfish ponds and bonsai trees.  Visit the Dr. Seuss, Winnie-the-Pooh and other favorite characters in the storybook gardens.   In the Xeriscape Demo Garden and the Rock Alpine Garden, you can gather ideas for designing your own backyard.  In all there are over 30 theme gardens in the Denver Botanic Gardens for your enjoyment.

Next on the must-do list is the Denver Zoo.  The Denver Zoo is a state-of-the-art habitat featuring more than 3,500 animals.  There are over 600 species represented in the animal selection at the zoo. The presentation of the zoo is awesome.  You have to make time to visit while working in the area.  The zoo is open year round, all 365 days of the year.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is one of Denver’s most popular attractions.  One can spend the day browsing the stunning exhibits of North American Indians, Egyptian mummies, dinosaurs, and minerals.  While you are there, be sure to catch the traveling exhibit offerings!

After all the exciting entertainment and attractions, you must be hungry!  Dining in Denver offers an array of choices from Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese, to plain ol’ American foods.  Just about anything you can think of, Denver has it.  If night life is on your agenda, bars and nightclubs are plentiful for your choosing as well.  Denver has it all.  What a fun and exciting work assignment city!  Call today and take that assignment and experience that rocky mountain high!!!
